Dubai-based footwear brand, Tamashee, has launched its third collection in UAE luxury retail space Level Shoe District.
The designs consist of 14 sandals for men and women, inspired by traditional embroideries and patterns from the Arabian Gulf region.
The label is co-founded by four entrepreneurs, Ali Al Youha, Mohammed Kazim, Amine Mamlouk, and Muneera Al Tamimi, of whom the first two are Emirati.
“We are very excited about the new collection [as] we have incorporated amazing product developments and introduced exotic leathers such as natural camel and ostrich leathers,” said the founders. “These changes have elevated the product significantly,” they added.
The group’s merchandise are sold through their online store and exclusively at Level Shoe District in the form of pop-displays.
The displays are made using teak wood, a type of wood often used in the Gulf region.
This comes hand in hand with the founder’s objective to integrate Arabian culture into their brand image and products. In line with the launch, Tamashee has also put together a series of interactive events hosted by young artists from the GCC, like Hawazin Al Otaibi, Reem Al Awadhi, and Saeeda Al Marzooqi, who will use teak wood and mixed media to create artworks.
The events will take place on August 5 and 7 at the store in Dubai Mall, starting from 7pm.
Level Shoe District regularly provides a platform for regional talent to showcase alongside its usual high end brands like Christian Louboutin and Philippe Lim.
Local names it houses include Nicoli, Darmaki, and Nour Jensen.
