First dedicated female cycling store in Middle East
The Middle East’s first ever cycling store just for women has opened in Dubai.
In addition to offering cycling equipment, Liv Store, located at Box Park on Al Wasl Road, is aiming to be a place for women cyclists to meet and get expert advice and information.
"Dubai is a city where Liv fits perfectly and we see it as a new benchmark city for the brand,” said creator of the Liv brand, Bonnie Tu.
“With Liv now operating in the city, it makes it even easier for female riders to get the best experience.”
In recent years, the UAE has had a growing number of cycling initiatives, such as the Dubai Tour, 92 Cycle Challenge and many clubs and groups.
It has also opened several cycling tracks across Dubai, like the Dubai Cycling Course and the Nad Al Sheba Cycle Park.
"The Liv name came from the Latin word that means “peace”, and that’s how I feel when I’m on a bike,” said Tu.
“I couldn’t believe it when all I could find to wear were small men’s cycling tops back in 2007 so to see Liv now at the forefront of female cycling is amazing,” she added.
The Liv store will tend to all levels of cyclists, offering a range of bicycles for entry-level road, mountain and commuter bikes, and high end options.
The brand is managed entirely by women, including bicycle engineers, gear designers and retail specialists.
