Landmark’s iCARE Clinics To Invest Dhs150m In UAE Expansion

The group aims to operate a total of 20 clinics in the country within the next three years.

The healthcare unit of UAE-based Landmark Group aims to expand its presence across the country over the next three years, it announced on Sunday.

Landmark Hospitality plans to invest Dhs150 million to expand its iCARE Clinics to 20 branches across the UAE by 2018.

Launched in 2012, iCARE currently offers family healthcare treatments across six clinics in Dubai.

New branches were launched in Uptown Mirdiff Mall, Al Barsha, Al Qusais in the last six months joining the existing clinics in Discovery Gardens, Lamcy Plaza and Oasis Centre.

The clinics offer primary healthcare services across specialties including pediatrics, OB/gynecology, dermatology, dentistry and orthodontics, ENT, ophthalmology, orthopedics and physiotherapy, pathology/lab services, radiology/X-Ray/USG, internal medicine, and general practitioner services.

Dr. Atul Aundhekar, chief medical director and business head, iCare Clinics, said: “Since our inception in 2012, we have built a strong foundation and have successfully offered retail health services.

“We are now geared towards making our services available to customers in various catchment areas in the next three years.”

With Dubai aiming to become a medical tourism hub, the local healthcare industry is expected to boom over the next few years.

Dubai’s private healthcare sector will require a minimum of 1,500 new beds by 2020, translating into a minimum investment of $1.5 billion, a recent report by research firm Colliers International found.

The report revealed that along with the emirate’s push to become a medical tourism hub, population growth, prevalence of lifestyle diseases and introduction of compulsory health insurance are expected to drive this growth.
