Pharmacy to serve deaf and blind
Health First Pharmacy accredited to serve deaf and blind
Dubai: The Health First Pharmacy is the first in the UAE to serve the deaf and blind with staff equipped with the necessary services to cater to this specific segment of society.
Health First Pharmacy is the first chain of pharmacies across the nation to receive such accreditation to serve hearing and visually impaired customers. In order to receive the certification, the pharmacy hosted a five-hour CME certification lecture on guidelines to pharmacists for dispensing medicine for deaf and blind patients. The lecture was only part of the training that will help Health First Pharmacy outlets better serve all members of society.
“The gesture is just one way of showing our care to our community, especially the less privileged who are usually dependent on another. This way they can come to our pharmacies by themselves and feel more independent during their retail experience there,” said Magdy Fahmy, Group General Manager of Planet Pharmacies.
Health First Pharmacy place the care of special needs patients first and take into account their medical and personal needs. The certification is an empowering tool for members to care for those in need by equipping them with the necessary skills to communicate and understand the demands of those with hearing or visual impairments.
