Jumbo sees a rise in UAE e-commerce trends
Jumbo Electronics says it has seen a rise in confidence among UAE consumers towards paying online.
The firm said 60 per cent of transactions on jumbo.ae have been paid for online since it launched six months ago, as compared to the region norm of 20 per cent.
According to PayPal, 80 per cent of consumers in the region prefer to pay cash on delivery.
Jumbo has also witnessed a growing number of its customers choosing its card-on-delivery option over cash, indicating a rising preference for cashless transactions.
“Customer preference for prepayment on our site reduces the chance of goods being returned or refused at the door. This consequently saves us the cost of reverse logistics and the opportunity loss of sale”, says Nadeem Khanzadah, Head of OmniChannel Retail at Jumbo Group.
The e-commerce site also gives an option of ‘Click & Collect’, providing shoppers the option to collect the product within five hours at their chosen store location, across the UAE.
