LandmarkShops aims for 400 per cent sales growth
Dubai: LandmarkShops.com, the online arm of Dubai-based Landmark Group, expects to boost sales by 400 per cent in the current financial year (July 2015-June 2016), according to Savitar Jagtiani, its
E-Commerce head.
He expects sales growth to be driven by “continued innovation”, adding more of the retail and hospitality group’s brands online and expanding into new markets. Seven of the group’s 14 brands are currently available on the site, including Splash, Babyshop, Emax, Lifestyle, Max, Shoemart and Centrepoint, with the rest expected to go online in the next year or two, Jagtiani said. LandmarkShops.com features over 30,000 products.
The site’s sales grew by 207 per cent in the last financial year, helped by the addition of brands like Max and Lifestyle as well as a clearance section, Jagtiani said. He declined to state the sales figure for the year.
On some of the site’s launches over the last year, he said: “We launched a mobile-responsive version of LandmarkShops.com; ‘pay and collect’ [which allows consumers to order goods online and collect them in stores] for Emax; and Lifestyle and Max on LandmarkShops.com … we also launched the clearance section on the site,” he said.
He said that LandmarkShops.com, which is operational only in the UAE, will extend to other countries by the end of the current financial year, but declined to identify the locations. He also that it plans to extend ‘pay and collect’ to other brands, and launch ‘reserve and collect’ during the same period.
