UAE's largest hotel event space opens in October

Madinat Jumeirah's Fort Island will have a capacity of up to 1,400 people

Dubai: Madinat Jumeirah, a luxury resort in Dubai, expects expansion of its Fort Island to be completed in October this year, according to a statement on Monday from Jumeirah Group, which owns and operates the resort.

Covering over 1,750 square meters, Fort Island is anticipated to be the largest hotel event space in the UAE. The space will be used to host parties, exhibitions, weddings, sports events and festivals, among others, with a capacity of up to 1,400 people.

“We look forward to catering for a larger and wider range of prestigious events for the meetings, incentives, conference and events (MICE) industry,” said Margaret Paul, the resort’s general manager, in the statement.

Fort Island, which was built in 2003, will be connected to the resort by four bridges.
